Location: Luton
Salary: Competitive
Hours: 40 hour week
Shift Pattern: Shift work required (role operates outside normal office hours)

About the Client
Our client operates within a fast-paced aviation environment where efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance are essential. The Logistics team plays a key role in supporting engineering operations through effective material handling and stock control.
Role Overview
The Material Controller ensures the station remains fully compliant with internal and external regulatory requirements relating to the receipt, storage, handling, and issue of aircraft parts and equipment. The role focuses on accurate stock management, correct certification, and timely material support to engineering operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all incoming material is undamaged, delivered in the correct quantity, and accompanied by the appropriate release documentation.
- Book all received items onto the QUANTUM system, placing any items that fail inspection into quarantine and liaising with airlines to resolve discrepancies.
- Place acceptable received material into secure storage.
- Maintain correct stock levels at all times.
- Return unserviceable material to airlines promptly to avoid unnecessary business charges.
- Monitor and manage shelf-life dates of components, materials, and tooling.
- Collect and deliver items to/from suppliers, couriers, and security as required.
- Issue material to engineers while accurately maintaining the QUANTUM/AMOS systems.
- Comply with all internal and external audit requirements.
- Provide additional operational support as required.
Operating Environment
- Fast-paced, pressurised environment with tight lead times.
- Working outside normal office hours and shift work is required.
- Must be physically fit and capable of handling heavy or bulky items.
- Willingness to support at other company locations when needed.
Education & Qualifications
- Secondary school level education.
- Excellent English (written and verbal).
Skills & Experience
Preferred Experience:
- Previous aviation logistics/stores experience (training can be provided).
- Experience using QUANTUM or AMOS systems (advantageous but not essential).
Knowledge & Training:
- EASA Part 145 training can be provided.
- Knowledge of goods-in inspection and airworthiness certification is an advantage.
- Strong IT literacy, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Ongoing training provided as required.
Additional Requirements
- Must be physically capable of handling heavy and bulky materials.
- Flexibility to travel to and support other company locations when requested.
