The Client:

Our Client, a dynamic International line and base maintenance provider often requires Engineers worldwide. They have staff working in the biggest airports in the UK including London, Belfast, Manchester and overseas.   

They are an independent MRO and are able to adapt their approach to respond to rapidly changing requirements and provide services which include component repairs, overhauls, piece part manufacture, aircraft fuel tank repairs, aircraft maintenance, aircraft interiors and AOG support.

They are continually nurturing talent whilst acting as a responsible member of the aviation community, meaning that all employees’ ongoing learning and development is taken seriously with training support to widen skills and knowledge.

This is a Permanent Position based in either Stansted or Manchester.

Role information – Compliance & Safety Officer:

Location: Manchester or Stansted

Salary: Competitive

Shift Pattern & Working Hours:  Monday – Thursday, working 07:00 – 16:00 and Friday, working 07:00 – 13:00.

Summary of Duties – Compliance & Safety Officer:

The primary purpose of this role is to perform administrative, analytical and investigative functions to develop, maintain and promote the highest standards of Compliance and Safety Management.

Job accountabilities:

  • Ensuring that the activities of the organisation are monitored for compliance with the applicable requirements and any additional requirements as established by the organisation
  • Ensuring that any maintenance contracted to another maintenance organisation is monitored for compliance with the contract or work order
  • Implementing a quality audit programme in which compliance with all maintenance procedures is reviewed at regular intervals in relation to each type of aircraft
  • Monitoring and coordinate the response to compliance findings such that they are closed within the agreed timescales
  • Monitoring the amendment of the organisation’s procedures and standard practices and their compliance with the current revision of Part-145 plus any other applicable regulatory requirement and guidance material issued by EASA/CAA
  • Assessing suppliers of new and used components and materials for satisfactory product quality in relation to the needs of the organisation
  • Assessing subcontractors working under the Compliance Monitoring and maintaining the expertise necessary to be able to do so, to the satisfaction of EASA
  • Establishing feedback from audit findings into the recurrent training programme
  • Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessment and management
  • Performing safety investigations in accordance with defined protocols to identify effective interventions
  • Monitor the implementation of actions taken to mitigate risks, as listed in the safety action plan, unless action follow-up is addressed by the compliance monitoring function
  • Establishing feedback from maintenance incidents/issues and feeding these back into the recurrent training programme.

In order to be successful in the role of Compliance & Safety Officer you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience as an ISO 9001 Auditor in a workshop environment
  • P145 workshop or Part 21G Manufacture experience
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in an Engineering or Safety-related discipline
  • Excellent knowledge of Aviation standards in an airline maintenance environment (EASA); and
  • Excellent knowledge of the application of Safety Management Systems; and
  • High standard of English language (written and oral); and
  • High standard of computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Right to work in the UK/EU
