About the Role:
We are seeking a Supervisory Engineer to join a dynamic aerospace maintenance team. You will be responsible for supervising, mentoring, and delegating resources as required to ensure the smooth running of operations while consistently meeting Part 145 maintenance requirements, internal processes, and customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs). With safety and quality as your top priorities, you will enforce strict adherence to Health & Safety procedures during aircraft maintenance activities within the scope of company approvals. Role Information: B1 Licensed Engineer:
Location: South Wales
Department: Base Maintenance
Salary: £66,420.22 plus £17,000 shift premium per annum (+ £££’s towards relocating to Wales if you live more than 60 miles away)
Hours of Work:
We offer two seasonal shift patterns to suit your lifestyle:
Seasonal Shift 1:
Monday to Thursday: 07:00 – 18:15
Friday: 07:00 – 14:30
Attendance required from 1 September to 31 May, plus 10 days of refresher training in August.
Seasonal Shift 2:
Variable shift pattern from 07:00 – 18:15, with an additional 3 to 4 working days per month at your discretion.
Attendance required from 1 September to 31 May, plus 10 days of refresher training in August.
Both shift patterns include a year-end shutdown in addition to the standard annual leave allowance.
Summaries of Duties – B1 Licensed Engineer:
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Technicians and Mechanics in all aspects of Base Maintenance checks.
- Ensure correct completion of paperwork and forms as required in the Company MOE or published procedures.
- Keep the Bay Manager and Production Planners informed of maintenance requirements and any potential or actual issues.
- Ensure all maintenance documentation is fully completed in a timely manner, including that of assisting personnel.
- Ensure correct timings are allocated to tasks and bookings on task cards are accurate.
- Oversee correct storage of aircraft components, including labelling, racking, availability, and serviceability.
- Maintain standard engineering practices within the hangar, such as accurately completing task cards, general hangar housekeeping, ensuring workplace cleanliness, and actively preventing FOD.
- Recommend improvements in working conditions, practices, and procedures to Bay Managers, Maintenance Manager, and deputies to improve efficiency and morale.
- Perform any other tasks as reasonably required in accordance with business needs.
- Work in accordance with company frameworks and comply with organisational policies, including risk management and mandatory training, to protect the company’s interests and reputation.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ aircraft maintenance experience, including at least 3 years in Base Maintenance.
- Ability to use recognised aircraft documentation confidently.
- Broad skillset in aircraft systems, including rigging, component replacement, and modification embodiment.
- Good structural assessment and repair knowledge.
- In-depth knowledge of aircraft system(s).
- B1 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Licence:
- Must hold UK CAA AML or EASA AML issued pre 31.12.20 or UK CAA AML & EASA AML issued post 31.12.20.
- Type Rating & Recency for any Boeing or Airbus family aircraft.
- Desirable: Type Rating & Recency for Boeing 737CL / 737NG / 757 / 767 and Airbus A320 Family.
Willingness and availability to complete aircraft type training as required (training provided by the company).
