Working Pattern: Shift-based (7am – 7pm, 5 on / 5 off / 4 on rotation, with flexibility)
Salary: Up to £81,190 (Basic: £75,190, Shift Allowance: £3,000, Approval Pay: Up to £6,000)
Approval Pay Breakdown: Wide Body Approval (330/787): 1st £2,000; 2nd £1,000 – Narrow Body Approval (737/320): 1st £2,000; 2nd £1,000

About the Client: Our client is a leading provider of aircraft maintenance and engineering services, delivering tailored base maintenance solutions to commercial aviation operators. Role Overview:
As a B1 Licensed Engineer, you will report to the Check Manager and hold responsibility for certifying maintenance tasks within your assigned zone or area of the aircraft. You will supervise allocated staff, ensure compliance with airworthiness regulations, maintain safety standards, and support efficient aircraft turnaround within base maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Certify maintenance work in accordance with company authorisation and regulatory standards
- Supervise mechanics and staff allocated to your aircraft/zone
- Report significant findings affecting aircraft delivery to the Shift Manager
- Ensure efficient maintenance to meet turnaround targets
- Conduct and document detailed shift handovers
- Identify and provision required spares to prevent delays
- Maintain production boards with progress, critical tasks, and personnel status
- Promote Human Factors awareness and adhere to Health & Safety standards
- Raise safety reports for incidents or hazards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area
- Ensure accurate recording of staff working hours
- Undertake other reasonable duties as required
Requirements:
Essential:
- Recognised apprenticeship within the aircraft industry or equivalent
- Current and valid UK CAA Part-66 B1 licence with type approvals relevant to the fleet. An EASA would be an added bonus
- At least 6 months recency on one of more of the following: A320, A330, B737, B787
- Minimum 5 years hands-on certifying experience within an EASA Part-145 environment
- Strong knowledge of airworthiness regulations, MOE, MEL, SRM, and limits of technical data
- Base / line maintenance expertise
- Understanding of Aircraft Maintenance Production Planning
- High standard of written and spoken English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance IT systems
